What to wear?
Folks at Poetry are laid-back and welcoming.
Some wear dresses, slacks, and jeans.
Come in what makes you feel comfortable.
What about children?
We are a tiny church! But, we've been making
places and spaces that we hope you find welcoming.
  • each service offers a children's sermon and an activity bag for children
to take back to the pew with them.
  • In the back of our sanctuary we've made a Kid's corner with
child size table and chairs, a play pen with blanket and stuffed animals.
We hope that you feel free to make use of this child-friendly space with
your supervision during the worship service.
  • Adjacent to the child corner, we are adding Rocking Chairs for those who might have a fussy infants. Feel free to make use of the comfortable rockers throughout the worship service.
  • There is a changing station right outside the restroom
  • We offer the sacrament of Holy Communion on the 1st Sunday of each month.
Our table is open to all people, including children! We invite you to bring them along with
you to the communion rail, where they will learn about the love and grace of Jesus Christ.
  • In the United Methodist church - We practice infant Baptism.  We believe that God initiates the act of Baptism as a sign of previenent Grace and love. When we baptize an infant or a small child, we vow to support the children and family in their Christian journey. Baptism claims the child as being  part of the family of God.
  • Each week we read a Bible Story and follow up with an activity to reinforce the lesson.
  • We invite parents to stay and participate in the Bible story and to help children with their learning/craft or activity.
